BARTER PROJECT_plan for a creative community
Barter Project used visual art to analyze spaces in which we spend our lives. The aim was not to produce works of art , but to create the possibility of a relationship between people, sought through visual means. The image is a threshold between the everyday perception of reality and aim towards which to move . B.P. is a process and work on themselves to build relationships that can give shape to: social intrusion , squares mobilization , collective motions , concrete actions , creative rebellions , self-reflective consciousness which can share a goal through awake, by means of which thought and action are inseparable. "Barter Project - plan for a creative community" comes from the need to establish an exchange and synergy between art and society. The exhibition-event was a reflection on some of the contemporary problems through an open look that includes the different visions of those who live on a territory : the artist , the citizen , the architect , every individual who wants to be an active and conscious part of a community. A community can exists if every man is able to create his own project that brings the community to strengthen its ethos . The community is therefore understood as a system of people who inhabit a territory and build their own actions in relation to it through a cultural, creative and spiritual system, which allows components to act without altering the biological balance. Barter Project examines the possibility of relationship, sharing and creative cooperation between art and society, considering the work of art as a fundamental element so that human action does not coincide exclusively with the economic act . A creative community found his own life (linked to the economy too) on a balanced relationship between territor , society and culture. A place culturally alive, brings the people of the community to take care of it, to relate to the land , its history and the decisions that determine their future. Keep a lively place at the cultural level means creating the conditions for the emergence of a community conscious and creative. Barter Project is a willingness to exchange, a movement of ideas and points of view on how man builds and draws the spaces in which to live. The center of B.P. have been conferences, open discussions with the citizens, tables of dialogue between artists and architects and the meeting with Carlo Carlei (architect) and Catherine Misuraca (journalist), founders of 400 KC Association, which were working on similar issues in the same period. |
