IN PROXIMITY_tracing a channel between the essence of song and the ordinary contingenty
The Traditional Songs are instrument that contain memory and human knowledge. They are a cultural heritage "alive" because they require the availability and mobilization of who sings to convey their essence. Each song has its specific qualities that derive from the context and cultural needs in which it was created (which determine the musical structure) and the trace left by every human being who has performed over time. The Song is able to awaken those parts of the self linked to a common origin for all human beings. The essence of each song is the set of specific quality of being that we can recognize as being part of our collective memories. In proxymity is the point where you want to get to be, the primary condition for being channel of the song essence and be in active relationship with the ordinary. The proximity is searched between two poles: one related to the awakening of the origin, the other connected to action in time contingent. With this last term we mean both the here and now of the performative act as the present in which we live every day. Being in proxymity means for us to be present. The creative work is composed in this close relationship, in which the essence of song and the contigency time are like two fires around which is built an ellipse. In fact, the meaning of the song comes to be only through the present time or contingency action, which shall be filled with meaning by means of singing. |
